Clear buying terms
The rules are simple: review the exact product and locked total, then pay in full through the agreed method.
Last updated: 19 October 2026These terms govern products and services sold by Buy a Trailer (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2025/082130/07. They must be read with the written quotation or order confirmation, our returns and warranty policy, delivery and collection policy, and applicable South African law. Nothing in these terms removes a consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
A quote request, delivery request or price-on-application enquiry is not an accepted order and does not require payment. For a published-price product, direct checkout lets the customer review the exact SKU, quantity, selected services and product total before placing the order.
An online order is accepted when successful full payment is matched to the order reference. We then confirm availability and the collection handover. If we cannot supply the selected product, the customer may choose an available lawful alternative or receive a refund; we will not substitute a product without agreement.
Website prices are shown in South African rand and, where stated, reflect the tax-inclusive manufacturer retail list used as the source. Published prices may change when a manufacturer or supplier price list changes. Direct checkout locks the displayed product and selected-service total to the created order.
The amount labelled “pay now” is the complete amount for the products and services listed in that checkout summary on a collection-handover basis. Optional delivery, government charges and other third-party costs are not included unless separately itemised and accepted in writing.
We take care to match names, SKUs, features and images to the relevant product. Screen colour, minor production revisions and supplier updates may differ. A material change will be disclosed before payment or handover.
Buy a Trailer does not request a deposit. Direct online purchases are paid in full against the private order reference created by the website. Quoted orders are paid in full only after written confirmation.
Online card payments are processed on Yoco’s hosted checkout. The exact total for a direct order is supplied to Yoco by our server and cannot be changed in the browser. Contact us immediately if anything appears incorrect.
Stock and manufacturing availability can change. Any estimated date is subject to final supplier, production and logistics confirmation. If we cannot supply within an agreed period, we will contact the customer to agree a lawful alternative, revised date or refund as appropriate.
Checkout gives the customer an opportunity to review and correct products, quantities, optional services and contact details before payment. After creation, the private order page records the reference, products, total, payment status and handover updates. Customers should save their confirmation and keep the private order link secure.
Direct online payment purchases the listed products and selected services for collection or handover at a commercial point confirmed by Buy a Trailer. Selecting “request optional delivery quote” records a non-binding request; it does not add delivery to the checkout total or oblige the customer to accept a later quote.
If optional delivery is accepted, its price, destination, method and estimated timing are recorded separately before dispatch. A customer who does not accept the delivery quotation may proceed with the confirmed collection arrangement. Customers should inspect products at handover where reasonably possible and report visible damage or an incorrect item promptly. This does not limit rights relating to hidden defects or other rights under law.
Cancellations, returns, refunds and warranty remedies are handled under our Returns, cancellations & warranty policy and applicable law. Special-order or customer-specified products may be subject to lawful exclusions or a reasonable cancellation charge where legislation permits.
The R2,000 registration-assistance fee covers the administrative assistance described on the service page. Government, licensing, courier and other third-party charges are separate unless expressly included in writing. We cannot guarantee an authority’s decision or processing time, and the customer remains responsible for providing complete and accurate documents.
Buy a Trailer does not grant credit. Customers may apply directly to an independent finance provider using our written dealer quotation. Approval, affordability, rates, deposits, fees, insurance and agreement terms are determined only by that provider. A finance enquiry does not reserve stock or create an order. See our finance options page.
At the customer’s express request, Buy a Trailer may introduce the customer to an authorised insurance provider. Buy a Trailer does not provide insurance advice, recommend or underwrite a policy, determine premiums, collect insurance payments or decide claims. Insurance is optional, is not included in the trailer price and is not a condition of purchase. Any insurance contract is concluded directly between the customer and the relevant provider. See our insurance introduction page.
Buy a Trailer remains responsible for obligations that cannot lawfully be excluded. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect losses arising from circumstances outside our reasonable control or from use inconsistent with manufacturer instructions, lawful load limits or road-safety requirements.
South African law applies. Please contact sales@buyatrailer.co.za first so we can try to resolve any concern promptly. Our company and complaints page identifies the available escalation routes.
